What it does

  • Folders in the sidebar

    A NeatChats panel sits above your chat history on chatgpt.com. Drop any chat into a folder from the small + on its row. Free: three folders. Pro: as many as you need, with subfolders and colours.

  • Pin what matters

    Pinned chats stay at the top of the panel, whatever ChatGPT does with the history below.

  • Search that finds it

    Type a word and the history filters by title as you type. Pro searches inside the text of your chats too, using your own ChatGPT session.

  • Stays in your browser

    Folders, pins and the Pro unlock live in Chrome's local storage. Nothing is uploaded to us; no account, no login.

How it works

    Install. Add NeatChats to Chrome from the Chrome Web Store.

    Open ChatGPT. The folder panel appears above your chat history. Make a folder, file a chat.

    Go Pro if you need more. One payment of $9 on the Pro page. The unlock reaches the extension by itself.

Privacy, in one paragraph

The extension asks for one permission, storage, and runs only on chatgpt.com and on this site (to receive the Pro unlock). It has no server. It collects no data. The full text is on the privacy page.

Frequently asked questions

Does NeatChats read my conversations?
It reads the chat titles shown in the ChatGPT sidebar to build the folder panel. The Pro search inside chats fetches a chat's text from ChatGPT with your own session, in your browser, and caches it locally. Nothing is sent to NeatChats.
What happens when ChatGPT changes its layout?
The panel hides itself instead of breaking the page, and the extension popup says so. An update follows through the Chrome Web Store; your folders are kept.
Is it official?
No. NeatChats is an independent extension, not affiliated with OpenAI. ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI.
Where do my folders go if I reinstall Chrome?
They live in this browser's storage. Pro includes a backup file you can export and import on another computer.
